Aurora is one of my most favorite compositions, which was written by Vanessa Mae and Ian Wherry. I wish I had a chance to see Vanessa perform it live. But here is the next best thing..

I thought I saw everything for the iPhone.. until I got an email in my inbox earlier today for an application that brings you the actual Autotune engine for the iPhone. This is madness and also a pretty fun idea. It’s called I Am T-Pain and you can download it from iTunes here.

I Am T-Pain [...]

This is something a friend sent me…
A girl posted this in a popular forum:
I’m going to be honest of what I’m going to say here. I’m 25 this year.
I’m very pretty, have style and good taste. I wish to marry a guy with $500k
annual salary or above. You might say that I’m greedy, but an [...]

MJ Memorial

As I’m sitting in a hotel room somewhere in Beijing watching the memorial service for Michael Jackson on CNN, because of technology, I was able to do it chatting with friends and even random people who I’ve never personally met. I like how the world is getting smaller, allowing us to connect without being in [...]

doa-death_of_auto-tune

So out comes Jay-Z’s ‘D.O.A.’ track from the upcoming The Blueprint 3 album scheduled to release on September 11, 2009. Nice date.. Jay.

The death of Auto-Tune? Sure thing Hov… but highly unlikely.
Whether you know it or not.. Auto-Tune is used in almost every top 40 hit song that requires some type of melody. Even country [...]

I can’t lie… I had to take a moment to think about what this world just lost.. and it made me pretty distraught. It’s such a tragedy when someone so inspiring to several entire generations passes away. Almost everyone alive today has attempted to learn the moonwalk. Crowds of women and men alike have fainted [...]

King of Kowloon

The King of Kowloon (Tsang Tsou Choi) was a street calligrapher who obsessed over tagging up the streets of Hong Kong since the middle of the last century. He rambled on about being the true successor to Kowloon because he believed his family lineage stemmed from former emperors. Graffiti was the platform he used to [...]

Tweet Beep

I’m writing this post because most people do not know how to use Twitter. Most of my personal friends are against joining because they see it as the newest social-media fad that will die out like the way MySpace is trending. (MySpace sucks by the way.. unless they change the name to ‘MySpam’).
You might say [...]

iPhone 3GS

If you’ve been following Apple’s WWDC then you already know they have been predictable at releasing the details for the new iPhone since the original one in 2007. Today Apple announced the iPhone 3GS which includes a 3.0 megapixel camera with auto focus, video recording and editing suite, voice control, MMS, digital compass, faster processor, [...]

Esther

On a random stupid day for some stupid fun…
This was a fake radio show a friend and I put together on a fake radio station for Esther’s comm class at the University of Houston (Lil Wayne’s Alma mater).  The funniest bit is the cheesy half-English half-Chinese Pepsi commercial we made mimicking the likes of what [...]

Baby when I look into your eyes
I lose my breath when I realize
That you made me smile.
Ain’t no doubt I can turn you out.
And I won’t quit till ya figure this out
That you made me smile.
It’s been awhile since I’ve seen you babe
When you’re on my mind
My heart just caves
In my brain I hang a [...]

Equipment and software used:
The track was sequenced and produced using Ableton Live then dumped into Pro-Tools for vox recording and mixing.
Special techniques:
The string sound is a violin that has been pitched down. I like to keep things simple… this beat only uses 4 tracks and kicks ass.
Random fact:
The girl you hear moaning in this song [...]

The other day some girl sent me a message on myspace I thought I should bring up. She writes: “Your music sounds really good but I don’t listen to uptempo Hip Hop”. That is probably the stupidest shit I’ve ever read. If it sounds good to you then it sounds good to you… Who cares [...]

[Download it]

This was an interview originally aired on Generasian Radio (90.1fm KPFT) with Yogi G, ALX, and Deepi. I was able to hijack an hour of their show to promote The Infection. One of my jokes making a reference to Dave Chapelle’s 2Pac skit didn’t carry out so well (crickets). But oh well.. I had [...]

edisonphonograph

DJing has always been about innovation. It all started with Thomas Edison, the first person to develop the first phonograph player, to Jimmy Savile, the first ever DJ to use 2 turntables for non-stop mixes. Since then DJ’s like Kool Herc and Frand Wizard Theodore have taken turntablism to an art form by using [...]

This is one of most favorite mashups (via DJ Earworm) of the top 25 billboard hits in the US. Beautifully done.

Just minding my own business and out of nowhere….

I’m not sure what these two got into a fight about and I can’t lie but it was funny as hell. I caught the whole footage on my iPhone.
I see a lot of videos like this all the time and I think to myself why doesn’t the [...]

The Emergence of God

The first time I fell into the superflat art movement was  during a trip to the Houston Fine Arts Museum’s Red Hot Asian Art Exhibit. The pieces that really caught my attention came from a young Japanese artist named Chiho Aoshima. You have to see her works in person to really appreciate the fine details [...]

MOBONIX – Remix of Kanye West’s Robocop
[Audio clip: view full post to listen]
She’s so fly type of daddy’s girl
She the apple of my eye
She don’t mind what I do
Who I talk to
Cause I be that type of guy
She’s like I trust ya baby
Because I love ya baby
I got her love locked down
She grabbed my wrist
And [...]

Do you tweet? I’ve joined twitter a month ago but haven’t really used it much until recently. I got really involved with it while I was redesigning my website, because I have my tweets updating automatically on the side bar under ‘the word’.

Someone needs to call the branding manager at Hello Kitty! …And tell him/her they are genius!
We’ve all seen the Hello Kitty vibrators:

They label them as ‘massagers’

I wouldn’t be surprised if they are fake though. But it is a cool idea… lollipops. You know.. cause she wanna lick the rapper.

Sneaker Street, Mongkok, Hong Kong

There’s an enchanted place near an enchanting island somewhere in this world filled with all types of sneakers. I wish I had more pictures but check out Sneaker Street or 波鞋街 (Fa Yuen Street) in Cantonese which is such a place. I should have brought more empty suitcases.

I’m regretting not pickin’ up these New Balances.
If [...]
