The Emergence Of God At The Reversal of Fate
Categories: What's Fresh?

The first time I fell into the superflat art movement was  during a trip to the Houston Fine Arts Museum’s Red Hot Asian Art Exhibit. The pieces that really caught my attention came from a young Japanese artist named Chiho Aoshima. You have to see her works in person to really appreciate the fine details of suicidal bunnies and flying pixies she incorporates. Shortly after, I learned she was the prodigy of another artist, Takashi Murakami (also rumored to be her boyfriend). You might have recognized Murakami’s work if you’ve ever seen the white Louis Vuitton bags with multi-colored LV prints.

Here’s a piece titled ‘The Emergence of God at the Reversal of Fate’ (via Honeyee.com) that Takashi Murakami has been working on for the past 5 years set to display on June 6th at the Palazzo Grassi Punta della Dogana exhibition in Italy. It should be interesting.

Note: The pieces are blurred out obviously because Murakami just wanted to show the scale of the project without giving away the actual art before the exhibit opens.
